IREGISTRO (ENG)
AKP/nov-4-2014
Persons with disabilities in Metro Manila may now fill up voter registration forms online through the Comelec’s
iRegistro Project.
The portal, launched last October 20, allows qualified voters in the National Capital Region to register at any time
convenient to them. Online registration through the Comelec website will also lessen queuing time at the offices of the
election body.
iRegistro is a big help to P-W-D and illiterate registrants because they are given an option to fill out P-W-D-friendly
forms.
But all online registrants must still personally submit their forms at designated Comelec N-C-R offices so they can
have their photograph, signature and fingerprints taken digitally.
Carmen Zubiaga, Acting Executive Director of the National Council on Disability Affairs, said they hope that P-W-Ds
outside the N-C-R can register online soon.
She said the Comelec should in the meantime instruct election officers in all regions to conduct satellite
registrations for senior citizens and P-W-Ds.
